Part 8: Completion of major thesis only or major thesis and coursework units

The work for the program shall normally be carried out under such conditions as the Research Degrees Committee may prescribe on behalf of Faculty Board.

Requirements for minor thesis and coursework units

Candidates must complete such coursework units and pass such examinations as the school (or Faculty Board) may prescribe to ensure that the candidate is adequately prepared for the proposed course of study. The coursework units and the minor thesis must be passed with an overall average result equivalent to H2A or better for admission to the course Master of Science by research.

Candidates who wish to proceed to Master of Science by research candidature must lodge an application form that is available from the Faculty of Science website or the Graduate Studies Officer.
