Part 13: Lapse of candidature

Failure to submit thesis by due date

Candidature will lapse if a candidate has not submitted the thesis by the due date. However, in special circumstances (approved by the Research Degrees Committee) the candidate may be permitted to submit the thesis for examination within three years of the lapse of candidature.

Failure to re-enrol

If the candidature lapses due to failure to re-enrol the candidate may not normally be re-admitted to the masters program within four years of the lapse, unless the Research Degrees Committee considers the circumstances sufficiently exceptional.
